Myrtle Plantation in Louisiana is one of America’s most haunted homes, built during the dark era of slavery. Countless enslaved people faced brutal conditions and untimely deaths here. Today, the spirits of the past are said to remain within the house, and numerous paranormal events have been reported.
From ghostly sobs in empty rooms to mysterious figures appearing in mirrors, and phantom footsteps in deserted hallways, chilling experiences abound. The most famous spirit is “Chloe,” a former enslaved woman whose ghost has been seen and photographed countless times.
Though open to the public, the sheer number of hauntings has driven some overnight guests to leave in terror. The Myrtle Plantation remains one of America’s most cursed and feared historic homes.

Rose Hall Great House near Montego Bay, Jamaica, was built in the 18th century as a sugar plantation mansion. It is haunted by the legend of Annie Palmer, known as the “White Witch,” who is said to have murdered three husbands and cruelly abused enslaved workers before being killed during a slave uprising in 1831.

Now a museum, the mansion still sees sightings of a woman in a white dress moving along the staircase at night. Visitors report hearing a woman crying or laughing in the bedrooms, and some fall ill or experience nightmares after their visits.
